Creationism I. Length 10:00. by Alexander James Hamilton explores the concept of fusion, the process of merging two or more objects into a single entity. Being particularly drawn to the spherical form creating this work "in camera" without any post-production. The piece features ambiguous spheres juxtaposed against dark voids of expansive water, surrounded by violent chemical reactions. These spheres of light represent the raw energy and power of nature, referencing the true source of life on Earth - the sun.
Evoking visions of space, explosive reactions within a star, and the formation of distant stellar objects that reference the Big Bang itself. Capturing a fleeting moment in time, a snapshot view of the birth of a fire that has long been extinguished. The beauty, colour, and purity of these reactions have already faded into darkness. Conveying the transience of our existence compared to the vast expanse of space and time.
The beauty of life and nature that surrounds us is ephemeral, and just like these reactions, we too flash into being and fade back into the darkness.
This is a collaboration artwork with artist Oleg Deetz and audio landscape by SubOctane brings an added dimension to the artwork.
