Alexander James is delighted to announce the relocation of his studio to Moscow where the artist is preparing new works for his forthcoming solo show at The Triumph Gallery. Founded in 2006 by Emelyan Zakharov and Dmitry Khankin, the gallery focuses on contemporary art and works with major international and Russian artists including AES+F, Vladimir Dubossarsky and Alexander Vinogradov, Alexei Beliayev-Guintovt and Recycle. Always presenting an innovative exhibition programme, Triumph was the first space in Russia to show works by Damien Hirst in 2006. This was followed a year later by a solo show by Jake and Dinos Chapman. James will be one of the very few British artists to have a solo show at this impressive space; and the only one to physically relocate his studio in order to create immersive works which have a dialogue with their surroundings in Russia. The show is tipped to further explore James’ Pre-Raphaelite influences and include figurative pieces perhaps referencing his earlier Ophelia works
